Terrible or Terrific Twos?

By Cindy Agoncillo

Two years ago, we published the first issue of Pet Boarding & Daycare. It was 32 pages long and contained seven articles. Now we are publishing our twelfth issue with twice as many articles filling the pages. It’s incredible to see how far we have come in such a short amount of time, but when I look at our sister publication, Groomer to Groomer, I realize how much further we can go.

Groomer to Groomer began as a small quarterly newsletter in 1982. It originally used a third of a sheet of paper, and over 20 years later, it is an 80-page magazine sent every month to thousands of people all over the world. Over the decades, Groomer to Groomer has been able to connect with groomers and the owners of small independent salons through the magazine and at the numerous grooming expos throughout the year. Some of those people are now regular columnists and contributors to the magazine.

As a relatively new publication, we do not yet have the luxury of those same opportunities. We are still getting to know everyone in the industry – especially the small business owners. As I mentioned in our last issue, I appreciate your emails and the connection that people make on Facebook. As we build relationships with you, our readers, we will be able to learn more about what you hope to see in this magazine and in the industry. Perhaps what you hope to see on these pages is your own expertise! If you have industry knowledge to share and a talent for writing, don’t hesitate to let us know.

We also appreciate the feedback you gave us after last year’s inaugural Pet Boarding & Daycare Expo. It helped us plan for this year’s show and create a lineup of seminars we think you will enjoy. Click Here to learn about some of the new, exciting features at this year’s show. You will also find the full program guide with the complete schedule and seminar descriptions inserted into the magazine. You can register for the show online at PetBoardingExpo.com or by calling our office at (717) 691-3388.

We look forward to entering our “terrible twos” but plan on making it “terrific” instead! Happy Birthday to Pet Boarding & Daycare!
